CHRISM- Community Handicapped Religious Instruction by Student Mentors, otherwise known as CHRISM, provides an opportunity for students to interact with handicapped members of the community. One Thursday a month, students and CHRISM participants attend Mass at the Didde Catholic Campus Center at 5:30 P.M. Afterwards, students assist participants in a craft activity related to the Gospel that day as well as eat dinner together. If you have been looking for a way to reach out and get involved in the community and to make a difference in someone else’s life, please take time to volunteer at the next CHRISM. Interested volunteers are asked to sign-up in the gathering space at the DCCC.
Volunteer Workday- Every Spring, the students at the Didde Center dedicate one full day (typically a Saturday) to assist any community members who need help with yard work, household chores, and any other task they need help in doing. This day is especially scheduled for any elderly or disabled persons who are in need of assistance. Student volunteers are assigned specific duties for the day, and are also fed lunch at the Center.
